bifold brand - which one to go for?

Options
hi all,

question on the reliability of two bifold brands: Korniche or VisoFold?

we're buying a 4 panel bifold for our extension and these two brands seem to be decent according to the internet, very similar price. any wisdom on which of these is the smarter choice? I'm looking for a product that won't feel flimsy after 2 years...

3600x2100mm, aluminium frame, double glazed, 4 panels, 4-3-1 configuration.

thanks

We have the Smart Visofold of around that size. Apart from the main exit door in the setup, we rarely open the whole caboodle, but I have no reason to be concerned by how well it'll continue to perform; it really feels well-made, with strong fittings and rollers, and operates smoothly.
We also went for triple-glazed as it was only around £200 more.
We for them from GFD Homes, and they were superb - and great value - although their fitters (Martindales) were carp, and managed to fit both the bifolds and the windows askew in the perfect openings our builder made. Unbludybelievable. Obviously, each crew will be different, so if you get them, make it clear you own both a spirit level and a pair of bludy eyes, items they seem to be lacking...

thanks, that sounds reassuring. I've been told visofold is indeed good, but korniche seems to be getting decent reviews as well. I guess I'll stick to whichever company can deliver quicker, as we need it within the next 2-3 weeks.

are you finding there's a lot of heat loss through such a large bifold or is it all ok?

Since it's a new extension, and to current Building Regs in terms of insulation, it's as warm as toast. No feeling, either, of a 'cold front'.
No idea how much the 'triple' contributes to this, and tbh I wouldn't have chosen it had it cost significantly more. But ~£200 seemed a no-brainer.

fair enough. same here, new, properly insulated extension, hopefully it will be fine. we might stick to double glazing, the difference seems to be much more now, but I'll make some phone calls first :). thanks again for your advice!
