EDF Changed Tariff without notice or permission

Hi
I have just had a (not so) smart meter installed and am on day 13 waiting for it to become smart. I have now discovered that i have been changed from an Economy 7 tariff to a single tariff with no warning or approval. My deal has remained the same, but are they allowed to do this? When I arranged for the meter to be installed I specifically asked if it was OK with a dual tariff meter and was told yes. My other issue is the lack of information relating to the meter itself, but that is another matter which I am giving them until Wednesday to resolve and I have already contacted the complaints department because of the lack of information available. As the deal is an online only one, I am forced to use WhatsApp to communicate with them. Whilst this is good in that I have written evidence of all discussions, it is not good because they dole out the standard answers ("we will contact you if you're meter doesn't connect"), but on asking why I have been moved to a single rate I have had no response. TBH, I think he was getting cheesed off with me asking for information on what happens if the meter doesn't connect and that the links he sent me bore no relation to the issues I was facing!!
Sorry to be a bit rambling, but I'm thoroughly cheesed off with the whole thing, and I am thinking the smart meter was a bad idea...if it ain't broke as the saying goes...

It sounds like the meter commissioning has not been completed correctly.
The meter itself is capable of being set to a single-rate, E7 or any number of more creative multi-rate tariffs, it just needs to be set up correctly.
If your online account is showing that you are on a single-rate tariff now then that is a mistake and you will have to complain about that, but it should be an easy one for them to fix once they complete the meter commissioning...

thanks for the response. it's all been a pig's ear of an experience and I have better things to do than chase up the energy company! A first world problem I know, but doesn't help the blood pressure! time for a cup of tea...
