https://heaterprox.com

Is confusing me

It appears to be a cheap Chinese manufacture - doesn't state where it is made

There are custom fees to pay and It doesn’t even state the power rating (which I have discovered is 350 watts - so its heat output is negligible) and a single years warranty costs an extra £5

it also states that it runs on 220v MAX - WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ?

Surely this must be illegal to sell such an item in UK ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

It is not being sold in the UK though.  Possibly illegal to import into the UK but you are the one that did that

That website just screams run away.

It is pretty obvious that it is a cheap useless piece of tat.  If you really want one you can buy similar from JML on the big cardboard stands in UK supermarkets.

I didn't fall for the scam
I am warning others to be aware

I assume you found it via a social media ad/click thorough?
Theres little point warning about these sites. The type who click through and buy will be unlikely to research.

But there's a 50% discount which ends today!

220v max means exactly what it says (although in reality I'm sure it wouldn't be any more dangerous running on 240v.)

There's nothing inherently wrong with charging for a warranty.  Warranties are in addition to your statutory rights.
  • I bought 10 of them, totally sold on it with this photo.
