My mother has just had an email from british gas,asking if she wanted to change her tarriff to Standard Variable from the fixed loyalty jul 23v1.I dont understand how they get the annual cost of £2674.60.The estimated usage is actual using(i have checked the readings)Can anyone explain this please so i can decide wether she should change?

£2674.60 is the price for a typical 12000 gas / 2900 elec customer on the Loyal Jul23 v1 fix. It isn't your mum's price, which would be more like £881.The Loyal fix is likely to be a little bit more expensive than the new Government caqpped tariff, but until we get the details (which won't be for a couple of weeks) it's impossible to be certain.N.
