My son receives DLA and has been given an award until 2025. He will turn 16 in 2024. Does that mean he will have to apply for PIP then or will his DLA award continue?
If he does have to apply for PIP will he get a letter asking him to?
Based in England, if that makes a difference.
Many thanks,
JAK

They will probably invite him to vlaim PIP around the time he turns 16.
DLA will remain in payment until a decision is made on thr PIP claim.1 -

Yes DD was awarded DLA and the end date was close to her 17th. She received PIP information about a day after her 16th birthday and was invited to apply online. She has just received a text to say she has been awarded it but still awaiting the letter to say what she has been awarded. Taken 5.5 months total.0
