All electric house
Anyone in the same boat as me? I live in an all electric house in Scotland with a 2 meter set up with 2 MPAN numbers. One for underfloor electric heating and hot water tank and the other for general electric. My previous provider had a special cheaper tariff for this heat meter. My energy company went bust and I was automatically switched to Eon next who don't have any such tariff. With the new price cap and my annual consumption being 10,000kwh my electricity bill is getting ridiculous. Can't seem to switch supplier as I don't know which other suppliers have tariffs for my meter type. The only one I know of is SSE and they are not taking new customers now. Any guidance will be much appreciated!!

You probably have Total Control which used to be unique to SSE. It was like Economy 10 but also gave you a "heating" supply that was on and metered 24/7 at the cheap rate and only for heating appliances.
I doubt there is a short term fix but longer term you want to look at something like a heat pump for heating and a standard 1 rate tariff.
Just switching to an ordinary Economy 10 supply might be an easy fix. You would need an electrician to disconnect the "total control" consumer unit and convert it to a normal peak and off peak consumer unit set up. Then use a timer so the under floor heating operates mostly in the E10 cheap rate periods.0 -
Only the legacy suppliers will support E10.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
