however I have problems.
my iPad doesn’t allow me to access it via Safari or google.
close say use chrome.
cannot download chrome from apps, need 14
firefox is 13.
can access close on bing on my kindle but don’t feel it is secure enough for banking.?
close are sending me a code for online banking, but I feel it still won’t allow me to log on ?
the rate on offer may be gone by the time code comes via mail ?
any ideas would be much appreciated.

    1.2.5.6?  Do you mean 12.5.6?
According to Apple the iPad Air 1 doesn't go past iOS 12.5.6, so you're out of luck.  The hardware dates from 2013.

Either use the Kindle Fire (it'll be far newer than the Air software wise) or use a desktop/other computer.  Or obtain a newer iPad.  Your choice.

Thanks Neil, guessed that would be the case.
only really use iPad for banking, no other means except kindle as you say .
I don’t feel it’s secure enough for banking,  probably is , but Sooner use another bank.
can log in umpteen banks with safari, have umpteen a /cs with different banks, no problems ever logging in any , ever .
had every bank on it over time.
    just close bros.
had them years, but not online .
    online only now though .
not a good enough rate to warrant a new ipad🤬
    Thanks for reply.
    much appreciated

The last Kindle Fire was released in 2013. Is your tablet that old or is it a later Amazon Fire device?

Actually I might have implied by accident that it was a Kindle Fire, as the OP doesn't mention a Kindle Fire, just a Kindle.  Though they acknowledge my mentioning of it.

Of course Amazon confused things when the Kindle Fire came along, merged the brands then split them up again so I dare say a lot of customers aren't sure what it is they have.  All Kindles have a web browser on them, not that it can cope with very much on the older ones.  Think it might be save to assume its s Fire, as they can get to the website in question on it.

OP mentions Kindle Fire in last line of post but I take your point.
