Sent email to their support to ask if its by design, then will know if its me with a unusual problem or if its on purpose, I requested they add a PIN auth mechanism if its by design, as requiring reauth encourages weak passwords.
  • My IHD is long dead, was always prone to freezing up. The Bright app has done the job excellently. Also its better the BG app and Web page - at least I can get a daily electricity reading from it, the BG portal picks a random average daily usage and just applies it to every day on their table.

No issues here on IOS15.7. The choice of a weak password is a personal matter. The ‘answer’ is a password manager. One Face ID followed by account login with just one icon press solves all my issues.

I use a password manager, but not one that automatically enters it, have to copy to clipboard and paste it, I choose to use one that doesnt store in the cloud (keeppass).

But moving on to that is distracting from the issue at hand, that the app forgets my auth details.

So are you confirming you have to reauth as well?  Just handled automatically via password automation.
  • I cannot remember the last time that I had to re-enter my log in details into the Bright App. I would look for issues closer to home for a resolution.

Got a reply, they removing the have to login again requirement. :)

"That is a legacy of an earlier App that we built on behalf of an energy supplier who mandated that the App enforce a logout every seven days. We will remove that rather tedious requirement in the next release, but thanks for giving us a nudge."
