The nokia n95 has sat nav built in so you don't need a separate unit.
The e61 on 3 also has software on to work with a tom tom unit.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Any of the newer N-series and E-series Nokias will do satnav, sothat inlcudes N73, N80, N95, e60, e61, e65. Pocket PC phones running WM5 or WM6 are also compatible, as are a few UIQ SonyEricsson models like the m600 and w960.
The Network is immaterial, other than the fact that some Networks like T-mobile will actually bundle satnav with some of their phones (they use co-pilot).
TomTom on the Nokias is very good, but the present version does not work with the internal GPS. A seperate bluetooth GPS is needed, as it is with all the other phones.====0 -
I have the N95 on 3 and you have to pay extra for the satnav....

you would be thinking of the "Nokia Maps" voice guidance, which does cost extra (no matter what Network, the Network is completely irrelevant, the satnav will work even without a simcard in the phone).
If you buy or acquire a copy of TomTom or Co-Pilot, other than the initial layout, it is completely free to use.====0 -
If you buy a sony ericsson such as the K850I you can buy Wayfinder.
Way finder is better than what the nokia will use as the nokia is very slow at loading up and you can loose sat nav if it is a cloudy day.
Sony ericsson have a handsfree headset that comes with a biult in gps receiver which can locate up to 19 sats. It will use a gprs connection hence never loosing signal. I am with orange and have a 30mb gprs bundle. I asked orange how much it will use and they said that a 70km journey will use about 70kbs of data , nowhere near a mb. Other networks have different bundles vodafone will give you 120mb for 7.50 a month which would be plenty to use sat nav.
I must point out that the gps is not bluetooth it is built in to the headset which is great as it kills a few birds with one stone. You are using hands free. The gps is not bluetooth as this can cause a delay in directions sent to gps and phone. Everthing is in one place.
www.wayfinder.com www.sonyericsson.co.uk or go to ebay and type in sony ericsson gps receiver.
Wayfinder will also work on nokias.
Wayfinder will be free for the first month then you will pay round about £60. It has two choices you can have maps or just giudence. Guidence will show you direction and it has voice prompts. them maps use a lot of dat so i just use guidence which does the job.
Orange also do their own sat nav but as i don't use it i will not comment.end the tv tax0 -
You are looking for a phone with an inbuilt GPS reciever then...
Most phones with GPS inbuilt are PDA type phones. I got the HTC TyTn II. T-mobile call it the MDA Vario III, Vodafone call it the v1615 and Orange just call it by its proper name. I went with the T-Mobile version because you get unlimited internet usage with it. The main thing with this particular phone is how fast it gets a lock on your position and loads up the software. It is very quick, quicker than any other phone. The reason I got it - is because it can do everything and do it well.
There are quite a few phones capable of doing what you want - what else do you want from your phone?Faith is believing what you know ain't so...0 -
I have an E61 on T-Mobile's web and walk package, which has a 1GB data allowance - effectively unlimited for a mobile, but note that you can't stream music or video.
Coupled with a BlueGPS GPS unit via bluetooth, and using Nokia Maps' pay-for sat-nav service (£12 a year?). Voice guidance and two display modes for driving. Also automatically reroutes if you miss a turn.
A *major* advantage of the Nokia maps service is that you can install the complete set of UK maps to your phone so that you can still view maps when there's no mobile signal (out here in the countryside, that's quite a lot!).
An interesting addition at the moment is google maps' latest offering, which offers GPS integration and a "My location" for phones without it (estimates where you are based on the strength of signal from surrounding base stations). It's no doubt a step on a path to offering a full sat-nav experience.te audire non possum. musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0 -
You could try the benefon twig Sim free with built in Navteq navigation and locator
If you have a netto nearby, see if they still have one in0 -
We have the E61 nokia phone and you can install tom tom or route 66 and possibly others on it.
You need a seperate sat nav receiver though.
The receivers are £20 and upwards. I bought mine new for £20 delivered.
The n95 has an inbuilt receiver and I know you can install tom tom to that providing you buy the right version.
Even my old nokia n gage can run a sat nav program as it uses a wifi connection to communicate with a receiver.0
