Marsdons have added £400 onto a £100 debt!

I had a court fine for speeding and with my mental health I forgot about it. Marsdons are now involved and tonight I just got home and they’ve been to my house and left a nasty letter. My original bill was £100 as I have already made payments towards it and now they have advised because they have had to come to my house they have added an extra £345!

So now my bill is £445! I just rang them and they are giving me an hour to pay it or they are adding yet another £140! Taking it from £100 to £585 in 24 hours!

I literally don’t know what to do, they weren’t understanding at all, they just said more money will be added on daily, I feel like I’m being bullied and my mental health is already so bad. I don’t know how I’m going to find £445 in an hour

Tell them that you are a vulnerable debtor and you want it frozen and 'breathing space'.

    Use those phrases.

Send an email for urgent help to your MP as well and tell Marstons that you are doing so.

Someone else said about the mental health breathing space. How does this work? I thought I needed the letter no? Or can I just tell them I have it?

Tell them asap, then get any documentation etcetera from your medical provider and supply copies as soon afterwards as you can.

If you can connect to youtube, search for Marsdons   ...... they are simply money thugs but many stand up to them

I think you'll find that the name is Marstons, not Marsdons!  @Lovelove82 - please confirm.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
