    Other = eBay.

    I'm currently getting the bits together for a complete bathroom refurb, and have bought the basin and taps, both at discount/auction, or using special offers.

    Are you doing the refurb yourself? the reason i ask is a lot of posters on this site say that many installers do not like using customers own kit.

    We have previously purchased from Victorian Plumbing (not to be confused with the terrible Victoria Plum) as well as independent bathroom specialists with bricks and mortar showrooms.

    Most recently we have bought our bathroom fittings from eBay too - but we have 'insider' knowledge as we have friends formerly in the trade as well as a close friend who is the MD of ArteForm - so know which brands to avoid 😀

    We once had a plumber who moaned like crazy about installing very high end Hansgrohe Axor Montreux (!!!!!) but imho they'll moan whatever they're installing, lol 😆

    Good point, and that might also not work out well for the customer themselves should anything go wrong - the installer won't cover the labour cost of replacing/repairing an item provided by the customer.

    In this case tho', yes, it'll all be DIYed.

    I went with “other” which in my case means a wide variety of places. Wherever I could get what I wanted the cheapest.  This meant a mix of online places, local showrooms and IKEA (love their vanities and sinks). Our installer was happy to install whatever we bought.
  • I just be guided by wherever my plumber wants to shop!

    My bathroom was fitted by a little independent company, who did the fitting themselves.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
