  • I really need urgent help.

SSE have mistaken my address for another and will not listen.  They have somehow taken over my electricity supply despite my correspondence with them that I am happy with my current supplier, and against my express wishes.    They have broken into my home, stolen my meter and put a pre pay one there.  No ways or means of using it, I didn't even know about it until my electricity went off.  This matter has been with Ombudsman since March 2022 and the insanity with SSE has not stopped and the resolution by ombudsman has not yet completed, yet I was cut off.  I have to keep topping up this expensive key and they're taking £7 each time 'debt'.  I am at my wits end, my petrol light is on, do I get petrol or top up this damned meter?  Ombudsman have requested SSE keep the meter topped up until the matter is resolved but they can refused.  What can I do until this is rectified?

Was the warrant issued for your address or another one? If they entered your property without a valid warrant then this is a criminal matter and you should have reported it as such.
If the warrant was for your address, then they did not break in, they lawfully forced entry, and it would be a civil matter to get compensation.
I'm confused as to how you could not notice that they forced entry to fit a PPM?
