Yes, but this is a Tory government, which gets donations from fossil fuel companies, so . . . There is also a social case for making units more expensive and reducing the standing charge, or scrapping it, or even making it negative, so everyone has a token amount of energy, and large users pay more, but . . . not under a Tory government, I don't think.wrf12345 said:There is a green case for making gas more expensive and electric cheaper ...1 -
Just received my new rates from British Gas in the NW these are gas 10.343p per kWh and 28.485p per day, electricity 35.982 per kWh and 48.597p per day these are higher than quoted in the MSE table, the electricity being particularly more expensive.1

Like most folks I'm eager to find out what my next unit rates will be (Octopus, Central Scotland) and, as soon as it is possible, hope to apply for Warm Home Discount Broader Group, Scotland.
Although we all keep saying the same thing, it really is true, that we have never known anything like this before.0 -
That would not be very fair as every user has access to the infrastructure and all should pay their fair share. The burden on those that work hard to cover the feckless cannot keep increasing at the rate it has been.nbyuio said:
