Smart Parking Fine - The Airport Pub, Manchester

Hi
Yesterday I received a parking fine for £100 (reduced to £60 if I pay within 2 weeks) from Smart Parking due to a slight overstay at the Airport Pub in Manchester. The driver paid for 3hrs parking but unfortunately went over by 17mins - the PCN includes photographs of the vehicle entering and leaving the car park. It's annoying that we had to pay for the parking in the first place as we spent a lot of money on food and drinks as well as sessions on the bouncy castle (we took our son and some friends there for a birthday treat!).
I was going to contact the Brewery and ask whether they'd be in a position to waiver the fine, but it clearly states on the pub website that they will not get involved.
I've seen the Template Letter provided with the Newbie area of the forum, but I'm not sure it applies to my case (as photos were submitted in the PCN etc etc).
Obviously, it was our fault for leaving late, but am I in a position to challenge the fine? Money's really tight at the moment (as it is for everyone!!) and I really resent handing over my hard earned money to these cowboy companies!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Smart Parking tickets are easy to deal with. The NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, tells you how. As long as you don't reveal the driver's identity, a single letter of appeal (use the blue text template in that Announcement) should see this put to bed. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

It is not a fine.
Plan A is always to complain to the landowner/manage/CEO, and your MP.
You say photos were submitted, but how do you know you have received ALL the photos that were taken?
Smart Parking do not issue PoFA compliant NTKs, so add a one liner to the appeal template in blue text as advised above to that effect, and say that since the keeper cannot be held liable they should cancel now to save themselves money.

Follow Fruitcake's advice, but you could have topped up your parking time as per their web instructions:

Thanks againCan you tell us which bit of the advice worked please, was it Plan A (landowner complaint) or sending the initial appeal template from the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement to Smart Parking?
Whichever, a monkey off your back. 👍Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I went straight to plan B (the template letter) and added the following at the end…
’ I am aware that Smart Parking do not issue PoFA compliant NTKs. Since the keeper cannot be held liable you should cancel now to save yourselves time and money.’
Can’t believe it worked - obviously the £60 I’ve saved myself is amazing but it also feels like a real win against these awful companies! Thanks again!!2 -
Easy when you know how - well done!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
