    Does anyone have the 'reverse engineering' calc we used to use to convert from the £x cap to the unit rates as it sounds like we can still use this to work out the new unit rates if the SC is not changing. Thanks
    As soon as it's confirmed what the balance between electricity and gas in the cap will be, then we can.  At the moment it swings up to 4% either way depending on region.

    If you want to assume a 50/50 split:

    £1250 electricity cap - £165 standing charge = £1085 electricity cost for 2900 kWh so 37.4p per kWh

    £1250 gas cap - £100 standing charge = £1150 gas cost for 12000 kWh so 9.6p per kWh

    Modify by however much you disagree with each.

    Can't we assume the same ratio of gas to electric as per the ofgem October cap (adjusted for the standing charge)?  Ie deduct the SC from the Oct Ofgem cap gas and electricity amounts then reduce pro rata so they total to 2230?
    I think....

    Gas 9.85p
    Electric 37.46p is my guess

    My standing charges are £296 a year, hopefully these drop at some point.

    No, because the October OFGEM cap has a different ratio for each region and payment type combination (and actually different total cap values).

    edit: For example at the moment in the April cap you have variations such as:

    North West = £933.79 gas and £974.11 electricity     (49% gas)
    Mersey       = £936.39 gas and £1038.84 electricity   (47% gas)

    or in the October cap:

    North West = £1785.25 gas and £1665.67 electricity   (52% gas)
    Mersey       = £1787.09 gas and £1758.23 electricity   (50% gas)

    Based off the company that has run a tracker, I get 10p (10.15) for gas and 35p (35.07) for electric, obviously will vary by region and there may be a different balance between gas and electric.

    Of course I am on a fix where that is less for gas but more for electric - I wonder if I can keep the electric fix and move to SVR for gas....
    I think....
