Is economy 7 capped

As previously mentioned, the important thing to consider in regard to choosing an Economy7 tariff is the percentage of Electricity you use at night. The average usage that is much quoted (42%) means that you make a significant saving - however it is also worth checking your own rates to find out what the break even point is. I was new to Economy7 having moved house, so I was keeping a close eye on whether it was economical - prior to the October changes the break even point was 32%.
After the changes that has gone to about 35.5% - so if you use less than that at night you will be paying more on the Economy7 tariff. For heavy night users this is not an issue - for those who are borderline on whether Economy7 is worthwhile it could be. So - it is definitely worth checking your own personal usage against your rates - don't rely on "the average" being right for you1 -
If you are new to E7 and have moved during the last few months then bear in mind your overnight use will increase hugely when you switch NSH's on. Heating the water also becomes a little more expensive over the winter months - previously with very low night rates it's been little enough financially that it is barely noticed - with a lot of folk paying 18p/unit or more for night rate now though the difference will be more significant.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
