Sleep apnea

Hi,

Been reading about the snoring articles and how you can claim for it.
Not sure how much truth is in this, but I suffer frome sleep apnea and diabetes.

Anyone been down this road to try and claim before I make a bit of a fool of myself and ring up.

Thanks

    What problems do you encounter?

Need to use my sleep apnea machine to keep control over any issues.
So the machine stops these issues?   What are the issues?

You can't claim anything for sleep apnoea and having to use a CPAP machine.
If it's keeping your  average AHI below 5 then it's doing its job. If it's not then go back to the sleep disorder dept at the hospital and talk to them.
  • These articles advising people that various conditions eg sleep apnoea, snoring, diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia etc mean they are entitled to PIP are really misleading.
It all depends on meeting the published criteria.

Claim what exactly, who from, and for what reason?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No what are the issues? There are different requirements for different disability benefits but they relate to how the disabilities effect your daily life and/or your ability to work not just that you gave said condition / disability
So if there are issues that affect your life you might be able to claim.

And if the CPAP machine is doing its job then there is no impact on daily life or work. In fact you will actually be better as you will not be so tired during the day as you should now be getting the correct type of sleep thanks to the CPAP machine.

That's how it works for me.

I would also suggest registering as a priority customer with your electricity supplier.
