OutfoxtheMarket DD caluculation

Hi - does anybody know how Outfoxthemarket calculates its DD payments? Unless I've missed it, it doesn't seem to be in the latest MSE guide.

To my knowledge no supplier has published their calculation formulas.

In general it should be predicted usage for the next 6/12 months, by rates and known rate changes (future cap) divided by 6/12.

"should be"... they seem to multiply actual usage by three or more but you do not have to accept their estimate and Ofgem are supposed to be policing this.
  • They use the same calculation as anyone else. Estimated useage x the rates and divide that number by 12 (or 6 if they are doing a bi annual review.

We have found them to be pretty accurate with their calculations over the last 18 months.

I asked to increase our Direct Debit from this month as we were not building up as much credit as we would have liked for the winter months. They agreed with my revised amount and have changed it no problem.

Depending on what is announced about energy bills in the next few days we may now be paying more than necessary, but I would rather it was that way then the other way!!
