paypal, ebay setting

Hello All,Spent ages first trying to post as kept getting message too short but hopefully ok now so apologies if confusing.Does anyone know how to change paypal setting so payment is taken from credit card account on file rather than bank account. I seem to recall this is the best setting to have.I used to have this but it seems when i updated my settings its changed.thanks

  • It's usually impossible to set credit card as the default funding. You have to change it each time you pay.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • thanks , It defiantely did this before but I searched prior to posting this and see some others have asked the same but never found out why.Can i then make each payment and at the time of paying select credit card or something like that.

I have not added my bank account as a funding option therefore I always pay with a credit card
  • Thanks for your replies, so in summary I cant change my payment to Credit Card by default?, Maybe when I added a bank account to become verified and increase my limits this happened. I have no idea but as I thought it was safer to pay by credit card can anyone confirm this is what I should do and if so do I get the option to do this?Thankyou

You set up your bank account to deposit money from your paypal account into your bank account. You then went one step further and confirmed that bank account which allowed paypal to use that as a funding option and I believe they default to it because it is preferential for them.

It is definitely better to pay by credit card especially if you have got a cashback card
  • Yes thats sounds about right its preferential for them but for me~?When I make a payment how can I make it via the credit card and not bank account?Cheers

Everytime you want to pay, you will need to check the funding option from bank account to credit card
  • Next time i'm tempted then thats what I shall try, many thanks.

    Thinking back...
I did have my Current Acccount on my paypal, then when I got my account confirmed I changed my bank account details, removed my current account then added my savings account.
Then was it is funded by my CC as they cant take money from my savings account, but I can withdraw my paypal funds to my savings account.
