Yes, I switched on the 3rd September to Octopus. You have to phone/email or reach them on Twitter - you can' do it online.

Thanks @powerful_Rogue
That's really good news.
Do you need to have a smart meter? Any other possible catches?0 -

Do you need to have a smart meter? Any other possible catches?I'm not sure whether you need one, or if they would install one if you switched. I already had smart meters and it was one of the questions they asked. Only been with them for 3 days, find their website/app so much better the British Gas. No harm in getting in touch with them to find out.If you do decide to switch, get a referral code as it will give you and the person referring both £50 credit.1 -
Depends which tariff you want.What_time_is_it said:Thanks @powerful_Rogue

For Tracker no, although I was told they would want to fit one this summer, but I switched to it at the end of summer so I don't know. For Agile or any of the EV tariffs, yes.
For the SVT (Flexible Octopus) or a fix, no.1 -
People have suggested recently that both EdF and Octopus are taking on new customers.1

Yes you can switch but it isn't as easy as it was imo. I was looking at it recently and it was difficult to find current (E7) tariffs. The comparison sites seem to have shut up shop and the MSE energy saving group didn't even list my current tariff (Bulb) so I couldn't do a comparison. In the end I went to my preferred suppliers direct. Octopus seemed the easiest and most transparent and has a range of tariffs.

Octopus tariffs are here - put in your postcode, DON'T press 'Get a Quote' but scroll down and select relevant filters (domestic at least)
