    I spoke to the mortgage advisor who stated it shouldn’t be a problem. He then contacted the lender to ensure this was the case and their criteria who stated that they only require a gifted deposit form signed by both fathers. I will be speaking to the solicitor regarding it too. 

    I will keep in mind the estate agent comments I wasn’t aware that they would require any proof of deposit? Never heard of that 

    We have plans in place for other immediate family to help if we were holding things up, so no time wasting we are serious about buying 
  • My son is buying SO 
    he had to show proof of deposit to the fiancé people for the HA
    his broker and his solicitor 

    the solicitor wanted a copy of the will 
    plus a letter from me as the executor of the willand a copy of my bank statements where it showed the money going into my account as the executor . 
    And proof of where the money had come from   - sale of late parents house so solicitors letter confirming the sale 

    This was all in the last month so very recent
