Amazon Renewed - a guarantee that's not really a guarantee?

In Dec 2021 I bought a refurbished iPhone XS from Amazon for c £300. I convinced myself with the 1 year Amazon Renewed guarantee. In July 2022 the phone screen started to play up and I contected the seller, who in fact was Grade Mobile. Grade Mobile's terms are actually that you only get money back within the first 30 days, thereafter in year 1 they repair or replace with another refurbished one; but they don't give money back. I feel misled, as I thought in a scenario where the phone has issues I can get money back, but that's only if the seller is Amazon i.e. what I think they call 'fulfil'. The 'Amazon Renewed guarantee' wording on their landing page is very misleading. Has anyone else had similar issues?

    I think you need to contact amazon and not the actual seller from what I understand in the terms

    In the above options, a dedicated customer service associate will first troubleshoot the problem. If the troubleshooting process does not fix your issue, you can get a replacement product if one is available. If a replacement isn’t available, you will get a full refund. The option for a replacement product is only available for products fulfilled by Amazon and subject to availability.

    Their wording is not misleading. You always need to read the T/C that go with them for clarity.
