Neff Cooker Hob

Options
We have a neff hob & oven which is about 4 years old and the numbers marking temps/settings are coming off with regular cleaning.
We have contacted Neff and they advise replacing the entire hob  as they cannot supply replacements. Twits.

So, any ideas folks?

Ta in advance

The door on my 5 year old ish Neff oven dosn't shut properly so my wife contacted Neff who told us there would be an initial £65 call out charge then amazingly £6 per every 4 mins the engineer was at our house. I told them to shove it and i am i the process of sourcing a new oven and hob from another manufacturer.
    Hello again
  • Wow, great customer service huh?!

I always thought they had a good rep, sadly mistaken!

    Anyone else have any ideas??

You could try using an engraving tool to enhance the original marks, not ideal, but a possible low cost solution.

I also thought that Neff were supposed to be a good company, obviously not, I shall avoid.

Perhaps they should be called Naff.

The engraving isn't a bad idea if all else fails... :o

A cheap alternative might be to buy a couple of sheets of peel off lettering & numbers that are used for hand made greetings cards. Although I'm not sure that the smallest size available would be suitable for your purpose as I'm sure you need something maybe even smaller.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • I have looked into that cattie and I think they would peel off even quicker than the Neff ones. It really has me stumped!

Ok, another suggestion. What if you bought the smallest letter & number stencil it's possible to buy & a small can of black enamel paint. It should be pretty hardwearing. You could practice on a piece of wood or cardboard to make sure you get the lettering as neat as possible.

  • Nice idea cattie, would deffo need to practice first to get it neat though!

    Thanks for all your input!

Not clear if it's on the dials or the hob itself?

Try some of the Neff spares places - but you'll need to ring them as 'cosmetics' are probably difficult to ID on their sites : e.g

    http://www.espares.co.uk/searchwizard.aspx?ma=1126&WT.srch=1&WT.mc_id=tsw0968

But - if it's on the hob itself (eg around the dials) - doesn't have to be Neff? Can't you try an alternate manufacturer if it's just heat resistant transfer stuff? If it's on the dials - a lot are recessed where the numbers / dots are and it's possible, with great care, to run a bit of enamel in using a very good quality artist's brush?

Best of luck - and change the cleaning product.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • Neff are owned by BSH who are a joint venture between Bosch and Siemens and make the white goods that are badged with the companies logos.
