Hi I purchased a jvc smart tv from Currys in January 2022.
End of August it keeps crashing and turning off when using Netflix Amazon YouTube anything online nothing wrong with internet as laptops other TV works fine.
Call Currys talk me through a reset performed made no difference called back spoke through a different solution went through no change.
To be told that I needed to remove it from the wall take it to a repair centre they would repair and return it 7 working days later.
It may just be me but how on earth is this correct if it is, it seems a poor policy but surely within the first 12 months a faulty appliance such a TV should be replaced
Perhaps it's me but to me this is not right at all.

In the first month you have the right to reject it for a full refund.
In the first 6 months its assumed any issues are faults unless the retailer can prove otherwise and the retailer can decide between repair, replace or full refund
After the first 6 months its up to the customer to prove something is a fault and the retailer can repair, replace or give a partial refund to reflect the use already received.
In the second two cases the customer can specify a preference for one of the three remedies however the retailer can ignore the preference if one of the other remedies is materially cheaper.
There is no time you have an automatic right for a replacement.0 -
It may not seem right but, as detailed by DullGreyGuy, Currys are acting in accordance with consumer law. They have one opportunity to repair and it they can't do so it's still their choice whether to replace or refund. If it does get to the replace or refund stage I would push hard for refund as you have no confidence that another set won't do the same thing.

This has nothing to do with Curry’s refund policy. That would be for unused items sent back as a change of mind. You’re relying on either the terms of the warranty or Consumer Rights. I would challenge you to find a large company that will advise they would replace if something goes wrong. Most go for repair first. And after this length of time, it would be your responsibility to prove it’s faulty through an inherent fault under your consumer rights.I’m not sure why you’ve mentioned removing it from the wall? Of course that will need to be done if you want it fixed.0
