I forgot to ask, does your clothes come out completely dry? As I've seen some reviews from people saying their clothes still come out damp but maybe they are just not using the correct programs.
On the default eco setting they came out slightly damp and needed airing for a couple of hours before putting away. But I read the manual and put them on a different setting and now the towels come out warm and fluffy and ready to put straight into the drawer. I only really use mine for heavy stuff. Any synthetics I just dry on a clothes horse but there are low temperature settings, I just don't use them. eco setting uses about 0.8kWh for a typical load and fully dry setting uses about 1.0kWh so not a massive difference. As far as using overnight is concerned, it doesn't get anything like as hot as a condensor dryer so, although I'm fairly cautious, after a couple of day time loads I've been quite happy to use it at night. I still have smoke alarms everywhere though. I just bought the cheapest Candy heat pump drier from Currys and very happy with it.

I had a Bosch heat pump dryer that didn’t dry large items properly but it had nothing to do with the heat pump itself - it was because it only turned in one direction. Things like sheets and duvet covers would get twisted and knotted, and when I untangled them they were damp in the middle. I’d put them back in, and after five minutes the dryer would stop, because the sensor thought they were dry, but they were all twisted up again. I left it behind when I moved!
Long story short : make sure your new dryer reverses direction.

I think all the dryers have various "dryness" settings. Mine has iron, iron+, iron++, wardrobe, wardrobe+. wardrobe++.

Usually use on wardrobe but I sometimes add a + if jeans in there, as the seams and waistband can still be damp.

Happy to use mine overnight and I also recommend the rubber type dryer balls, I've done tests and they really do cut drying time by around 25%.

We have had a heat pump Bosch in 2017.    It sits in a laundry room which has single-pane windows and no heating and works fine.   I have had a tapo plug on it for a few months now and it uses around 0.7kWh per load on light cottons but heads to about 1.2kWh on a full load.  It has a sensor for when it thinks things are dry and that works a lot of the time but sometimes, a load will come out a bit too damp but that is usually a sign that the water tank needs emptying or the filter needs clearing as it's fine after that.   Being 5 years old, it doesn't have wifi/app or on screen to give you advance warnings.   A decent modern one would.

In reference to the post higher up, our Bosch is two way and it doesnt suffer that problem.

I've just discovered how much electricity my Bosch tumble dryer uses 2.7 kWh a load and we have it on 3 or 4 times a week.

I wonder how I can make it break down so I can buy a heat pump dryer? B)

What's the difference between wardrobe, wardrobe+ and wardrobe++? If they are dry enough for the wardrobe what are the + and ++ for?

Perhaps to allow for users to adjust to what their personal idea of what is dry enough to go straight in the wardrobe? Even at ++ there is some moisture and the clothes aren't "cooked".

Dried a king size bed set this morning, fairly heavy quilt cover, fitted sheet and two pillowcases. Used 1.05kWh, took about 2 hours. This was on the Candy equivalent of wardrobe+, i.e one notch down from the driest option. Hanging on the airer now, they'll be fine to put away in an hour.
