Where to sell unused sets of stamps?

I have several 'presentation sets' of unused stamps. As they are 'picture stamps' royal mail says they do not require exchanging to QR coded stamps. They are nice sets as they are though, and it seems a shame to open them and start to use them, and to be honest I don't send many letters or cards at all, I'd probably never get through them! They are just sat in a drawer, and I could do with having a little bit of extra cash in my purse than having them doing nothing.

I'm not sure the best place to sell them though, or what price to expect. Should it be less than the face value of the stamps because they are 'second hand' or should it be more than the face value as they are 'special editions'?

I've looked on ebay to get an idea, but they range wildly, and I don't know which prices are realistic. Has anyone else sold presentation packs and could advise me? If I kept them are they likely to decrease in value?

Stamps, even special commemorative ones rarely sell for even face value, and by the time you factor in postage costs (and make sure you use the correct service) and fees you might as well just use them. I’ve been using up all my post decimal ones for months now.

You can check on eBay sold listings (check completed not current listings) if you want to make sure you have nothing special, but as above remember to factor in fees and postage.

Ahh thanks Soolin, I had forgotten about the 'completed' not 'current' listings, that will give me a much better idea! I've got SO many stamps though, I have recently exchanged over £100 worth of normal stamps for the new QR coded ones, before I even make a start on the presentation packs.
It just seems a shame to use them as they look so nice as complete sets (for someone interested in the theme, or in collecting in general)

Yes it is a shame, my father collected stamps for years and often bought several sets and I probably had hundreds of pounds worth , Royal Weddings , horses, all the Christmas stamps…. Some are such low value as they are so old that I virtually covered a an entire envelope just trying to make up £1.05 for a LL .

I've sold a few in the past (recent ones) and made about 2/3 face value.  Recent ones that appeal to other types of collector (e.g. DC and Marvel comics) might make a bit more if you time it right.  Older ones - you are probably better off breaking them for postage (if the values are reasonable).
I need to think of something new here...
