Taking readings for gas and electric over the last 6 months and comparing  to the same period of 2021. The reduction is 15% or £30 monthly When trying to reduce my DD by
this amount the EON system online would only let me reduce the amount by £20 and my a/c is £ 300+ in credit. Why can I only reduce it to £ 189 instead of £ 179.

You've accidentally posted under  LPG -  you are not the first and won't be the last.

Your DD will be zooming up in the months to come and £10 will be a mere drop in the ocean

Your use may be 15% down but the cost has doubled (or thereabouts).  So, if you reduce it more, you will be paying too little.

You are about to enter the most expensive time of the year for energy (winter) and the double whammy of the massive increase in the price cap.

If I were you I wouldn't reduce that DD amount at all.
