Scottish power have now agreed to no exit fees as well

This is good news, Martin did post a gov document last week saying would be no exit fees, but then when I read the updated gov factsheet today I noticed instead the gov was just saying people had to sort out with their supplier which I felt was a cop out and I felt stupid for telling people would be no exit fees, but it seems fingers crossed this will now be sorted if Martin is right.Mstty said:Scottish power have now agreed to no exit fees as well
Is this all the UK consumer suppliers covered by that agreement?0 -
I wonder if EDF will play silly whatsits, my gas fix is above the freeze cap and electricity below, will they try and claim that I need to consider the dual fuel package as a whole rather than just reduce the gas rate down to the freeze rate and leave the electric alone?!I think....0

Don’t know why all the flapping, it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that any fixed tariffs above the cap would get reduced to match the new capped prices and any already below the new cap would stay the same. There was no way companies were going to take 17p & 4p off already low prices. Anyone still above can change to SVT fee free2

So you're saying Martin Lewis has less than a half a brain.

It would have seemed more obvious if all fixed tariffs were, well, you know, fixed. But when someone decided that wasn't true, anything was possible.Mobtr said:Don’t know why all the flapping, it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that any fixed tariffs above the cap would get reduced to match the new capped prices and any already below the new cap would stay the same. Good to see there is no upper limit to energy use so people with large mansions, swimming pools, and stables to heat get the support they deserve courtesy of tax payers.

So does that mean you believe anyone who is on a fixed tariff above the new cap shouldn’t get the reduction?[Deleted User] said:

Yes if he actually thought that someone currently paying 27p on a fix for electricity would now be paying 10p, or someone who‘s gas was fixed at 4p would pay nothingDeleted_User said:Mobtr said:Don’t know why all the flapping, it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that any fixed tariffs above the cap would get reduced to match the new capped prices and any already below the new cap would stay the same. all these current rates being quoted are for dual fuel? have i missed anything for electricity only, south west region?
we fixed in May with British Gas until 31.05.23, 0.33236p kwh & 0.58475p s/charge (old tariff was the std variable 0.28408p kwh/0.51626p s/charge as at 01.04.22).
price freeze tariff wef 01.10.22 is 0.3381p kwh & 0.5264p s/charge.
we'll use around 9000kwh October to May, on the current fix that would be £3133 vs price freeze tariff £3170.
So stay on the fix now, but then allowed onto the price freeze tariff at the end of May '23?0
