Barclays Mortgage Application - checks on credit file

Hi All,
New to the forum, so please go easy, I have tried to search but had no luck.
To give some background - late last year I applied for a mortgage with Barclays, I got an AIP but was declined at underwriter stage - I had some credit issues in the past - so they suggested trying again after 6 months of good credit utilisation. At the time of the application they performed a hard search on experian and transunion.
In August I tried again, I got another AIP and submitted a full application a couple of weeks ago - this time I notice they have again done the hard credit checks with both CRAs, however, I notice they have also done an affordability check on Transunion and identification check on experian - I am trying not to read too much into these multiple checks - but just wondering if anyone had, had similar and if it were a good or bad sign? Or if it’s normal or whatever.
