British Gas Fixed Sept 23V4
Hi all..
I am currently on British Gas standard rate. I have an option to switch the the fixed Sept 23v4 tariff which using the calculator is 145% higher than my current rate, so I am considering switching.
What I wanted to know is, is this deal likley to stay in place until the end of September? In which case I won't switch until the end of this month.. Or could it be pulled or changed at any time??
Thanks!

It can be pulled any time, as with all offers from any suppliers.
With the new PM being announced today, their plans may screw anyone who has taken a fix if prices are frozen at the current level.
It's all a big gamble for the next week or so.1 -
Could fix today and make use of the 14 day cooling off period if things change significantly with the cap1

Switch today, and that will lock you in at today's rates. You then have 14 days cooling off to cancel and revert to SVT
If it's still on offer on 19/9 there would be nothing to stop you rinsing and repeating if the situation is still not clear.
Truss will supposedly announce her cunning plan by Thursday: I think we can assume it's near the top of the in-tray pile.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks rang them and they told me that if a cheaper British Gas deal comes out I can switch to it without paying the 200 penalty..0

But I think they were saying that will only apply during the cooling off period. That tariff has a £100 exit fee per fuel.drose1 said:Thanks rang them and they told me that if a cheaper British Gas deal comes out I can switch to it without paying the 200 penalty..No free lunch, and no free laptop

Only if you change supplier. No fees to move to another BG tariff or back to the SVT. Their wording is Exit Fees (if you change supplier before end of tarriff)macman said:
