If the plumbing involves boilers or electric showers, you need someone suitably qualified and experienced, who knows what they can and can't do.

Showers are straightforward, but building regulations no longer permit you to do the wiring (it is not difficult, although the 10mm wire is awkward). Boiler installers need the appropriate gas or oil qualification.
