CAN I renew driving licence with a nearly expired passport?
Options
My passport (issued in 2012) expires in October 2022 and Licence expires in 2024. I thought I would renew my licence early as I don't want to renew my passport just yet and DVLA expects you to have a valid passport.
Will DVLA accept a passport that expires in October 2022. I look the same but will the 12 year photo on the passport be an issue?

I got away with it. During lockdown, my passport was due to expire, but I knew I wasn't going away for a while. The photocard licence had expired, but we were allowed a year's grace during lockdown.So just before the old passport expired, I sent off for a new licence. The DVLA didn't seem to care.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -

And you can take your own photo on a smart phone these days and if you have followed their guidelines that will be fine.0

I don’t have, and never had a passport, not sure how long I have before I need to renew my license I’m 62 so I guess another few years0
