Unauthorised payment

in Credit cards
I'm just after some reassurance.
My bank stopped an unauthorised payment going through on my credit card and let me know.
I checked via the app and saw another unauthorised payment showing as pending.
The bank said they'd reverse the payment, cancelled my credit card and are sending a new one.
It's three days later and the payment hasn't yet been reversed.
Am I panicking for no reason and it can take a while for the payment to get refunded?
I made the fatal mistake of googling and read about companies claiming the payments are correct and the payment being taken anyway. Its a lot of money.

Is the second unauthorised transaction still showing as pending or has it actually completed?
If you Google the FCA's page about unauthorised transactions you'll see that the onus is on the card company to prove that you did authorise a transaction rather than you having to prove that you didn't, so if you didn't then there's no need to panic....1 -
The second transaction has now completed. I'll call them about it but wanted to give it chance to go.
Thank you eskbanker, I'd normally keep it in perspective but I've got other stuff going on and it felt like the last straw.1 -
They can't reverse a authorisation. It's against card regulations. Only retailer can do that. What they will do is either make sure it debits the old car (means you never see it on a statement) or refund if it does debit.
Do not worry, you will not be out of pocket. Unless retailers comes back & it is proved to be a genuine transaction 👍Life in the slow lane0
