That's Skye weather for 300 days of the year!  Cloud, rain and sun.

As they say in Scotland if you don't like it, wait an hour and it will change.

A quick look at this site -

    https://www.weatherforecast.co.uk/united-kingdom/scotland/isle-of-skye/portree/

seems to indicate that there will be some long sunny intervals and fairly reasonable temps in the next few days. For example, Monday is forecast to be sunny from 6am to 6pm at the moment.

I think you have to look at a forecast as a whole to see when exactly to expect rain or sun, rather than just the summary which is what your photo is. (Also, the BBC seems to have a bit of a gloomy perspective!)

I'd go, definitely.  I'd also consult a couple of alternative weather forecast sites.

Obviously just my own opinion but I do love travelling and although I've been to many other countries, I've never been to Scotland, which is much nearer - and is definitely on my list of places to visit.  Bon voyage?   :)

I went to Skye for the day about 30 years ago, when you still went by boat.  We were staying near Inverness.  The weather on Skye was amazing,  blue sky and sunshine all day.  We were told “it’s not often like this”.

It is beautiful, hopefully the weather wont put you off.

Skye is beautiful whatever the weather. OP, I'd certainly recommend a visit. :)

That's so lucky, as I heard it is very hard to get a good weather for skye

If it's wet at 7.00am chances are sun will be out by 11.00am. And it'll probably be raining again by 3.00pm. :)

On the plus side, you'll see more and better rainbows than you've probably seen in decades....

I've usually been fortunate with Skye weather, but it's a great place whatever. The main problem comes June to August, but it's being eaten by midges not getting wet :)

May tends to preceed the worst of the midge season so yes in terms of not being driven mad by the little blighters (and until you've been properly midged you have no idea of how horrendous it can be! :# ). May can be good for weather too- there seems to often be a settled patch then (though by no means not guaranteed). The days are long too, so plenty of opportunity for ambitious walks (and wonderful twilights). Personally, I've found September/early October is also often relatively settled weatherwise.
