Sainsbury's Energy - Fix or Leave as is?

Consider the decision in this manner.. any fix will mean you know what the price per unit will be. If prices go up, you will not pay more. If prices go down, you will not pay less.
Some people who fix benefit. Some people who fix lose out. Some people who stay on SVT benefit. Some people who stay on SVT lose out.
If you think the fix is better for you, take it. If you don't, don't. All we can do is give you information that might help you make the decision.0 -
They should have been offered the v19 of smooth renew, I was I asked them to lock it in I'll take it, which they did.drlabman said:
If your fixed tariff ends on 25/09 you should have been offered Smooth Renew v20 a couple of weeks ago. If you were, you've missed that boat. My tariff ends on 01/10 and I accepted the v20 before the Aug 26th price cap review because it was clearly going up and the v20 would probably be pulled. The v21 is more expensive than the v20 but without gambling on a variable tariff it's the best you'll do.otronics said:I am with Sainsbury's Energy and my fixed tariff for gas and electric ends on 25/09/2022.
There is also no exit fee's with the smooth renew's so it's far less of a gamble.0 -
Thanks for the advice all.
Things have obviously changed in recent days and Sainsbury's are only offering me the variable now at present.0 -
That's not surprisingly as the dust settles on this price cap freeze and that may well be the least complicated of tariffs to be on for the next two years starting 1st October.otronics said:Thanks for the advice all.
