Notified of PCN more than 14 days after alleged contravention

Hi everyone,
I just need a bit of guidance on this. I have just received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus on behalf of Euro Car Parks Ltd. It states that the Parking Charge date is 26/05/2022. I have no memory of this visit to Toby Carvery due to the time scale involved also I visit this restaurant often and always use the terminals in Toby to enter the registration number of the car.

I understand that Euro Car Parks Ltd has to notify you within 14 days. Obviously, this is way over that. I am asking you wonderful people how to go about challenging this. I intended to request a SAR for camera evidence of the time I entered and left the car park that day.

If anyone can guide me, I will be very grateful.

Is your car logbook address correct? We suspect you haven't updated it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are you saying that this DRP letter is the first that you have heard of any alleged parking event?

If so, then please check your vehicle's Registration Document.
Does it have the correct address for the Registered Keeper?

Are you really saying you can't remember what happened just three months ago, or are you saying that your vehicle didn't visit that place?

The '14 days' thing is only a limit if they want to transfer any driver's liability to the keeper.
Otherwise, the DVLA allows them six months to get keeper details from them and their trade association allows them another month to get a Parking Charge Notice to the Keeper.

Get hold of the Carvery management and complain to them and ask for it to be cancelled due to the failure of their equipment!
