EasyJet Cancellation Fee

I was due to make a domestic flight with return a week later, but due to contracting Covid I can't make the flight.

I went to change flights, which would cost £42 per person, per flight, so £84. Instead, I chose to book new flights, which was cheaper than amending the originals.

I looked at cancelling the flights, and it says it costs £49 to do so.

Is there a risk for not turning up for the flight with easyJet, especially if I don't 'check in'?
If I don't turn up for the flight, can I claim the tax back still?

'Tax' would be Air Passenger Duty and for a domestic flight within the UK it is £6.50 per sector.

I am not sure if Easyjet still charge (or rather deduct) an administration fee to process any refund claim.

the £49 is the fee for cancelling within 24 hours of booking and you get rest of money back....after then there is no cancel option

Has the £6.50 rate taken effect yet?  I thought the reduction from £13 was next year.  easyJet didn't charge any refund fee a few months ago.

Yes you are right. It reduced next April.  Currently the domestic APD is £13.
