So, have tried to open an account with Shawbrook to temporarily invest proceeds from recent house sale. Therefore we only have a temporary address since new home not yet finished. Received email advising that more details required - to include proof of address. How am I supposed to prove a temporary address? Contacted helpline - "unable to assist, as address has to be verified". Impossible!! Shame as it was top of MSE instant access savings - so will have to look elsewhere.

I think it's part of anti-fraud regulations that require things like proof of address. Do you pay any bills/council tax at your temporary address?

You could use your old address to open, then change your address in a day or two.

Thats what I did until I moved into my new place 3 days later.

Also look at Gatehouse bank, 2.0% easy access.

Assuming you are now in your temporary address, be sure to have set up post forwarding from your previous address if you are going to use that! N.B. The forwarding process is not 100% reliable either.

Whatever account you choose, confirm that you are happy with the daily withdrawal limits.

Shawbrook is being drained by me, as now Al Ryan is 2.1% easy access and Gatehouse is 2.0%.
