We got our tickets from Rail Line...
    Who??

Do you perhaps mean www.thetrainline.com? Or someone else?
It was Train line sorry for the error
  • I forgot to say could anyone have a Phone Number I could use to contact Thames Link I just seem to go  round in circles trying to find a person to speak to all I get is select this option or that option. What happened to the good old days when a real person would actually answer the phone.Very frustrating
  • This problem has been sorted I went into the Trainline website and there was a section to change dates or times..There were no available seats on the wednesday the 14th but managed to get seats on the Tuesday 13th.Will collect the tickets later just need to send back the original tickets to get a full refund and only paid the same price so good result.Thank's for the replies
  • I may have solved this problem but now have another one which connected to it,We were originally going on the 15th and returning on the 19th but because of the train strike we cancelled those tickets and got some new ones departing on the 13th and returning on the 19th.But now the 19th is a bank holiday so not sure what the trains will be like and do not want to cancell again.Any ideas Thank;s
  • I forgot to say we are catching a Thameslink train to St Pancras at 11.13 arriving St Pancras 12.27 Then catching the 12.50 East Midlands Train to Leicester.
  • With the number of people wanting to get up to London on the day of the funeral the train companies will be running as many trains as they can, at least a normal weekday service with maybe some extras. Leaving London at 12:50 should be no issue, you will be going against the flow although the Thameslink train may be 'a little full'.

From reading back through the thread, I think the times that the OP has quoted above may be for the outward journey, and the intention is for them to make the return journey on the 19th - from Leicester to St Pancras then via Thameslink to an unknown home. OP can you please confirm your intended route and times on 19th ?
If into London on 19th, I think it is likely to be very busy.

Judging by how busy Euston and Kings Cross were today, let alone in a few days' time, I would strongly recommend to anyone planning to travel into London to put off their plans until after the 19th, if possible. It looks like it's going to be awful.
  • You can try to take a cab back home, but most likely the trains should not be canceled.
