Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was the last of the chicken, I had salad with mine, DH had chicken, jacket potato with cheese and beans, boiled eggs and HM potato salad. Tonight I'm not sure but I do have plenty in the freezer and store cupboard.
Working a longer day today due to staff hols and sickness but am then off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thanks for starting NMLC.It's a damp, chilly start here, not quite full daylight - I'm assuming it'll get lighter, it seems dull and gloomy.!st September, where has the year gone! We still get some nice weather in September though. My friend and I had a great time at the theatre yesterday. It was packed. It really gave us a lift, and the general feeling as we were leaving seemed to be that everyone felt the same.Sorry I still haven't read back yet, from when we were away, I'll do it today.Hope everyone is ok and has a good day today - take care folks.12

Afternoon folks.
Peace has broken out! Youngest nephew’s four young children have gone back to their mother for five days. SIL in her office doing some grant applications, I'm sitting in the sunshine drinking a chilled SB and all the others are having lunch out. 🤣 Mind you it’s not been so relaxing as every so often a kangaroo jumps past me- not very close but enough to keep me alert. 🦘🦘
I’ve brought in two loads of washing and hung out three more. If I never see hundreds of wee socks and knickers agsin I’ll be happy. How my nephew copes is beyond me, my SIL does a lot to help though the children are on the feral
side. It’s almost wonderful to watch, just glad I can remove myself from the fray. The weather hasn’t been as forecasted, no
rain yet though it’s breezy and cloudy. I’m expecting them back soon so will make the most of the quiet.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Thursday to all.12 -
Morning All
Lovely and bright again this morning, washing just finishing and it can go out. Bet all that washing is a bit of a shock Gers!
Haircut today so I'll have to take the car for a quick getaway. So far the buses have been quite good, the app helps to see where the bus is so I can leave work and not have to wait long for the way home.
Hope everyone is well, that Mum seems to be a bit of a pain Ruby, good to block her number.
Take care. XX12 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No rain is forecast but looking at the sky I wonder whether to believe them. I did intend stripping off my bedding but may hold fire as I don't want it all festooning the upstairs.
GERS my images of the feral children make me smile! But it will be nice to have a bit of peace for a few days!
RUBY that mother sounds a total pain in the neck. Some people need carrying through life and she sounds like one of them. They can't cope without constant support.
Despite my intentions I did end up spending in Skipton yesterday but it was stuff I needed honestly! I finally got my shopping trolley and it's been worth the wait! Picked one up in a half price sale for £11 and I put it to good use immediately to try it out. Much easier than carrying bags. I also got a pair of 140 denier thermal leggings which should hopefully keep my legs warm under jeans this winter! I might look like the Michelin man but who cares!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning everyone, and thanks for the start nmlc x Pinch punch, white rabbits and all that!
WFH today and the shutter man is coming at 9am so will have to be on mute for my daily 'birdtable' meeting - yes W1A alive and kicking in the civil service. DH didn't clean the windows and I was too pooped last night so we will have to do it afterwards.
I received our latest energy bill as I sent in meter readings on Monday. We are currently in credit and paying too much, but I'm keeping the payment the same so as not to get a bigger shock come the Autumn. Will do some washing today as it's meant to be dry and 21 degrees. Dinner tonight is chicken curry, rice and naan.
Good idea to get those thermals @TravellingAbuela - I'm going up in the loft later to look for ours. Last used about 4 years ago for skiing! I have some nice thermal long sleeved tops from Un!qlo which are decent enough to wear 'on show' so will dig those out too.
Your nephew sounds like he has his hands full @Gers. I remember all those little sock pegging sessions. Don't miss them!
Have a good day all and hugs to those struggling.

Morning to all from sunny Bucks. Brisbane sounds lovely Gers and I almost wish I was there, although DH's sister flies in from Sydney in 3 weeks time. Bet she'll be shivering with our weather by then!
Need to hang out the washing I did last night and then do a bit of shopping and ironing. We're off to a late afternoon bbq about an hour's drive away and I'm making a rocket, tomato and mozzarella salad to take with me, amongst other things. Probably not the best option, as I lay it out on a plate, so will have to pack that to withstand the journey.
Off to take DH a cup of tea. have a good day everyone.12 -
Morning all
Its a bit dull and cloudy here but the sun is due out later. I am picking my private client up today and will take him to my old work where we will go swimming in an outdoor pool so should be a good day.
No more calls from the strange lady so I think I have managed to block her, I had to give her son (my client) my number so I hope she doesnt start ringing on his phone ! if so I need to ask them for a cheap pay as you go phone which I can turn off when not at work.
Had a new chap yesterday for a few hours he was a real sweetie, he has downs but was so capeable, we made a cake and he was very at home in the kitchen, he is away to Australia for a month today to visit his mum so he will start when he gets back.
Pork chops for dinner tonight, might do some chips and peas with them. I have put a wash on and will hang it out before I go.
Have good days all xxx12 -
Morning everyone
It's my birthday today -I'm 55 - had a nice chat with eldest DD while still in bed - she's very busy at work this week so is working from home today and tomorrow so she can get on.
Going down to mam and dads for coffee and DD and little one will come too. I had a lovely couple of days in York but walked too much and feel aching and quite shattered today. Just done my monthly e consult with my doctor so she'll probably ring later. The hotel I stayed in was lovely and has a fascinating history - it's called The Bar Convent if anyone wants to look - I'd stay there again. I really enjoyed my visit to the cinema - the sofa was very comfy - there was only myself and two others there. Yesterday I went to the Yorkshire Museum and then wandered round the Shambles - about 3.30 my legs had had enough of walking so I went back and sat in the sunshine in the museum gardens with my book, a drink and a cake. It was then only a 15 minute walk back to retrieve my bag from the hotel on my way back to the station for the train at 6pm. It was a really lovely couple of days but I wish I didn't feel so tired after what should be normal activities - though I know a lot of people with long Covid are a lot worse than me.
Little kitten is bouncing about with one of my shoes! She's getting a lot more confident now. DD and little one stayed and looked after her while I was away.
Well I'd better get moving - hope everyone has a good day x
Gers - the idea of kangaroos bouncing past you is fascinating - what sort of noise do kangaroos make? x

Morning all, it's very overcast today, would be the day I decided to wash the bedding ! Maybe it will brighten up this afternoon as it has done every afternoon. I have stripped the bed, washed the bedding and I have a towel wash on the go now, hopefully it will all dry because the forecast is for a weekend or more of rain. At some point I have to make room in the freezer for some tubs of mince in a bol sauce as I bulk cooked it in the slow cooker yesterday.
I will re-make the bed and then this afternoon we are going to DD's to celebrate DGS's 13th birthday 🎂, now where did all that time go ? I'm sure he was a tiny bundle just yesterday !
dp1 happy birthday to you today too. 🎂 Have a great day.
Gers sounds like you're having a fab time.
Take care all
nan xx
