Hi,
I changed which account I wanted to my energy bill from so cancelled my DD and set up a new one from another account. This was also about the same time my fix ended so am now on SVR.  I’ve had notification that the DD hasn’t been set up so I phoned Scottish Power who have told me I can only pay by DD if I’m on a fix. If I’m on the SVR I just make a payment each month. Does this sound right??? Will it cost me more??
Thanks

Phone again and speak to a different person. I'm sure they'll set up a DD.

I'm sure you'll get this resolved but for next time you caused this issue by trying to do things yourself whereas you should have contacted SP in the first place to make the change.

That's absurd, because it cost them to process a cheque, cash or card payment. A DD costs them nothing.

That is the reason why there is a discount for paying by direct debit.

I'm on SVT with Scottish Power and pay by DD, so I think whoever you spoke to was talking rubbish!
