2021 covid travel plans disruption

3 Posts
Hello there! I had plans to visit London from Wales in 2021. I made a reservation on airbnb in advance to stay from Sat Jan 16, 2021 to Sat Jan 23, 2021 and payed £573.02 for reservation.
In the beginning of January there were additional restrictions announced, which made travelling to England for leisure purposes illegal.
I've asked for refund, and host only refunded 50% (which is aligned with host's policy). I was upset about this circumstances, but neither host nor I was in fault.
Now I am thinking, is there anything I could have done (or still can) to claim 100% of my booking fee?
Thanks!

Splitting the cost is a better result than most - a lot have got nothing back from similar circumstances.
I don't see how a refund would be due in these circumstances if the contract did not allow for it.
I can spell, my iPad can't.
