UKCPS Parking Fine - "No Stopping" - Please Help!

Hi! I received a "no stopping" fine and it says that I need to pay £100 or £60 if it is paid within 14 days I am the registered keeper but its a male driving the car. It says the time issued but does not state how long it was there for..  the reason for issue is "no stopping" - but it says at the beginning of the letter that "the driver is liable for a parking charge". I have logged onto the UKCPS website and looked at the photos and the car was there for around 4-5 minutes as the timings are on the photos.. they had a trailer on the back and must have pulled in to check the trailer was ok. The lines on the road are yellow, which I have seen a thread saying they should be red? It also does not state the location on the letter - it just says private roadways, Bilbrough, so I couldn't check the signage if I wanted to How do I go about contesting this please?
Thank you !

Thank you for starting your own thread for this case.

You can challenge the charge by using the blue text initial appeal template from the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post.  Just send it to UKCPS unaltered. But, you do realise that it won't get this cancelled. PPCs don't cancel tickets, because that means they don't earn any money. The second stage appeal service - the IAS - is far from impartial, and openly states that just 4% of motorists succeed with an appeal to them, so we really don't recommend appealing to them in most cases.

So it's just ride this out - a few silly debt collector chaser letters which should quieten down after a while, then see if UKCPS do anything further. They have not been active on the court front for some years now, and there are no signs that they are about to restart. But we can't guarantee anything, and they do have 6 years to issue a court claim.

Just ignore it, as we said.  Nothing has changed about any advice you've already seen.

Here's a reminder of my reply to you on the UKCPS no stopping Group Thread:
No need for new threads about UKCPS no stopping.  As ever, ignore them or try a pointless IAS appeal stating that you were not driving snd there's no evidence of stopping, so no parking event and no keeper liability.

    No paying.
Once in ignore mode, tell them in writing if you move house over the next 6 years.

You do nothing now until either you receive a court claim within six years, or six years have passed without a court claim.

Tell the DPO of UKCPS if you move home, otherwise get on with your life.

Note that the sign they showed is a stock image held on a computer. They have not shown that this sign is in fact the one facing the car and trailer, or that it is even a true representation of signs at the site in question.

Do you know the name of the road on which the car was stopped?  On the NtK it shows 'Private Roadways Bilbrough' which says nothing much at all. Is that stretch of road actually private, or have UKCPS just set up camp on a public road (not unheard of)?  Once you have the name of the road, you can ask the local council to confirm whether it is public or private. Come back when you have confirmation.
