    my holiday years is April-April

Yeah I want/need a day off to sort out the flat etc which is reasonable request for a day off, as moving

but because of us being really busy & staff member off sick they reluctant to give me any holiday/annual leave till they are back which I feel Is unfair & could be a few weeks or longer

    my holiday years is April-April
As you say April to April, do you mean any holiday not used April to March, had to be taken in April, so you have 13 months to take your holiday in , rather than 12?

In which case you still have 7 months of this year to take your holiday and 8 months including April to use any carried over.

As you say its unfair to have a holiday declined, I'm guessing usually you can choose when you're off. Sadly this isn't always the case and an employer can dictate when this time is used. Could you ask when in the next 4 weeks you can take 1 days holiday, would they then give you a date or do think there's no holidays in the next 4 weeks either?

It is hard when you go from employment where you could really pick and choose when you are off, to being told, especially when like you say, it's 1 day for moving.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

All holiday has to be taken by April but can carry 5 days over they have to be used by June,

yess we can generally choose when we want a day off 9 times out of 10 it is approved been like that for years.

But as I say Due to staff member still off sick as issue has arised with there op they had done & we are super busy due to start of the school term, it unlikely they will approve day off till they are back but if we get to end of a day & everything is done & complete they will let me have it off,

    will find out tomz
