Providers that offer quarterly bills
Options
I was with SSE since Nov 2013 and recently was moved over to OVO. I’ve always paid my utility bills quarterly and since the switch, I’ve been moved to a monthly billing cycle. I called customer service who advised they don’t offer quarterly billing despite the fact they state they do in the OVO online app/searches online (in Billing History- see how billing works link - states you will receive a bill monthly or quarterly). This is frustrating for me as I receive income in dividends so makes sense for me financially to pay quarterly. Does anyone know of any gas/electricity suppliers who can still offer quarterly?

EDF have a quarterly option but (a) I don't know if they are accepting new customers at the moment, and (b) quarterly billing will cost you more - of the order of £250 per year more for a dual fuel customer at Ofgem's typical rate.

Many have quarterly billing, but still take direct debits monthly. I assume you are looking for a supplier who bills quarterly and you pay on billing.
There are some, but as mentioned many charge in the region of 7% additional fees to do so. Are you willing to pay those additional fees?1 -
Your thread title says quarterly billing but post #1 indicates that it is not billing that matters but payment method. This is frustrating for me as I receive income in dividends so makes sense for me financially to pay quarterly.Have you considered putting aside an amount after each dividend payment to cover the next 3 months?

As others have mentioned briefly, the information who offers quarterly payments does not help you at all, there is almost no supplier accepting new customers, if you are lucky EDF or Octopus may accept you
EDF:Cash/Cheque (Quarterly) is no longer offered to new customers or existing customers wanting to change payment method.Octopus does only mention different payment methods, but no three monthly payment.0 -
EDF are moving over to the Kraken billing platform, which doesn’t offer quarterly billing (see Octopus and E.ON Next).0

"Thank you for your email, we are no longer offering quarterly billing as one of our payment options therefore all of our quarterly customers are being moved to a monthly billing schedule moving forward.
I understand this may not be perfect for you however, there are a few reasons for this. The main reason is we found that, during the energy crisis, customers on quarterly billing were more likely to receive a larger bill, leaving them with an account balance they may struggle to pay. We aren't saying you would personally struggle, but we feel as though this will be a positive step forward for everyone."1 -
