We live 350 miles from both our families, regularly drive down for weekends, and don't want to have to stop for half an hour for a charge.MX5huggy said:Do you run 2 (or more) cars at the same time? I can’t see why you think you need 450 real world range, when it becomes available you’ll be paying a fortune for a battery you’ll never need to use.
More importantly, sadly there will come a time when we're racing down the A1 because one of our parents is ill, or something's happened, and then we really won't want to stop to charge.
So actually we need 350 miles but I was adding some extra on for getting stuck in jams.
Well, correctly: we don't need 350 miles but want it.0 -
One of our current cars is a 6-year-old Skoda that I'm hoping we keep for as long as you have.MX5huggy said:I’ve run an Octavia I bought new 13 years ago got a deal from Drive The Deal the purchase cost spread over the 13 years is minimal, going used would have been a comprise. I got the engine I wanted in the current model with the extras that I wanted, year old stuff was not significantly cheaper.
Been seriously impressed with it so far! Currently planning for both our cars to be Skoda in future. 0 -
You can’t drive 350 miles without stopping, that would be very dangerous and not very nice for your bladder.1

Though EV's usually have a pretty low top speed and at higher speeds are even worse on fuel.
Just in case you live near a section of unrestricted autobahn and make the occasional fast 350 mile journey. You'll probably find an EV with an advertised 450 miles will have a range of closer to 200 miles @ 81mph.
