Amazon confirmed receiving my return on 25th July but asking me to wait 2 months for a refund.

I googled this 60 day thing and seen similar posts here in the search hence me coming here. The other posts people seem to be justifying amazon's stance as "well the have to do checks(already checked as they have it in receipt), maybe they think fraud(obv not as they confirm receipt and has serial number matching that in my account),  etc" So i signed up because the below email is actually amazing. They CONFIRMED they received it back on 25th July. This email is from a few days ago. All communication since has been one way, in they're ignoring me and not explaining how they think getting it back and asking me to wait 60 days for a refund is good business practice. Have a look at the email below. What do they need to investigate when they already confirmed receipt on their own end. Amazon really seems to be sucking lately. Final straw for me with them but i just thought i'd come to see what excuses could be made for them with this email as their seemed to be a lot in the other threads posted recently.

Hello,

I looked into order #026-8153739-3937xxx and confirmed that we received your returned Apple iPod touch (32GB) - Gold (Latest Model) on 25 July 2022. Once your refund is processed, we'll send you an email confirmation. Check the status of your return anytime by visiting:

Once the carrier has received your return package, it can take a while to arrive at our returns center. In most situations, returns are processed by Amazon in 14 days. In some situations, it may take longer. If you haven't been issued a refund after 14 days, we ask that you wait until September 25, 2022 for us to investigate what happened to your return.

If you don't hear from our returns center by September 25, 2022, please write back so we can find out what happened.

Thanks for shopping with Amazon and always take care.

I've got this a few times of late, generally still got refund within 3 weeks.
But had one now that was received and confirmed back with Amazon on 10 jan, but they have asked me to wait till 10 march for refund.

@jamesnote440 how did yours work out?

Suspect we'll never know given they've not been online for over 2 years.

I have had similar when returning high value tech items as they say they undergo more thorough return checks but refund has always come through in a few of weeks
