Chrysalis said: Solid plate hobs make a oven feel like a LED bulb in comparison, they hideously expensive to use. They so bad in all honesty they should be banned from sale at this point.Niece had one in her new place (an ex-rental). Before she even moved in, I swapped it out for an induction.Landlords like the solid plate jobbies as they are cheap, relatively fault free, and easy to clean. As they are not paying the bills, they don't care about the running costs - Maybe including the type of cooking facilities in an EPC may help to focus their minds. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
I use a Vango Sizzle - they do a single 800W unit and a dual 1600W one both with long cables.Nice and small so doesn't take a lot of space but as a result is best with small to medium sized pans.5 heat settings with setting 2 fine for simmering and setting 5 for a reasonably rapid boil - although boiling water first in a kettle is more efficient. The single unit can be had for around £50 and the double £90 if you keep an eye out for offers.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0
