I'll give them the joists in the cellar have rot which need repairing to have their mortgage released.
If they have had people coming round since May. It seems odd that mortgage co have only just pulled the plug due to highlighting issues, such as joists.
If they were planning on extending up or down. Have other properties in the street done that? If not then they may not get planning permission to go up.
Something really does not sound right at all. Wonder if their real issue is that mortgage co have pulled the offer due to delay & their income, based on increase in interest rates. So they are scrabbling around to get a new mortgage offer which will require them to stump up even more money for surveys.Life in the slow lane1 -

They said they're serious and this is shown how much they've paid already in surveys and tradesmen. The EA didn't have much to say about it really.I learned this morning that a friend of mine finally got fed up with their ever-demanding cash buyer and so put their house back on the market last week; literally within 24 hours they had accepted a new full-asking-price offer.I wonder how the OP got on?My friend finally completed a few days ago at full asking price despite some issues with the boundary and sewage system. So it goes to show that desirable properties in desirable areas will always sell at good prices...

It's the very famous Lynne Truss book that all we English graduates were reading not so long ago. . . . it's really good. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
