How do I work out what I need to pay over next 3-6 months?

You need to dig out your old bills and work out that monthly use at the current rates. It will only be a rough figure though as, especially with gas, there are factors that influence that use.0

Octopus have introduced a "balance forecast" on their website, which shows expected usage and the cost of that, month by month1

Though that's based on current prices, so you may need to do a bit of maths if you're on the SVT and know the unit cost from October1
